Lulabelle Violin owned by Willie Docto
Lulabelle Violin is named in memory of Thurmond's favorite Aunt Lucille DePamphillis. The instrument is modeled after Fritz Kreisler's 1733 Guarneri del Gesu'. Lulabelle is owned by Willie Docto, a freelance orchestral violinist in Vermont and Washington, DC, in May, 2006. The top is of two pieces of close grained spruce harvested in Northwestern Canada in 2000. The back, ribs and scroll are of Bosnian maple. |
