Maker of Violins, Violas and Cellos

Nicolo Amati Model Violin

This violin is modeled after those of Nicolo Amati.  The label reads "Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremona 1645."  The instrument appears to be German made, probably in Saxony.  It is in very good condition, with a two piece spruce top of medium fine grain.  The once piece back is of evenly flamed maple with flames pointing downwards from right to left.  The varnish is a warm brown over golden ground.  The even warm tone is of solo quality with large sound production and projection.  It has quick response and is very easy to play.
Price: $2500 US Dollars.
