This 15 1/2 inch viola is of German origin, and is modeled after Stradivarius. In excellent condition, the instrument has golden-brown varnish over a gold ground, and has been carefully antiqued.
The two-piece well hazeled spruce top is of medium even grain throughout, and the two-piece book-matched maple back is well flamed with the curls running almost horizontally.
The instrument has a warm tone that projects very well.
