Max Schuster Violin

Modeled after Stradivarius

This is a full size violin  modeled after Stradivarius, stamped "Max Schuster."  William Henley's Dictionary of Violin Makers reports "Max Schuster was born in  1881, worked in Breslav, Werzburg and Berlin.  Established at Markneukirchen 1915.  First class copies of old standard models."  This instrument has close straight grained spruce top and a highly flamed once-piece maple back.  There is pronounced flame through the neck and scroll; ebony fittings.  The workmanship indicates a highly skilled maker.  The violin is in excellent condition.  Tonal quality is full and mellow.  Dominant Strings.  This violin was sold in  May, 2007.
