J. F. Richmond is listed as a violin maker in Claremont, New Hampshire,
who worked there in the 1930s-1940s. He is listed in Thomas
Wenberg's The Violin
Makers of the United States. This violin is modeled after
Guarneri del Jesu', the maker from Cremona, Italy. It is in near

The Sitka spruce top is of straight medium width grain. The maple
back is carved from a single piece of evenly and well flamed wood with
the flames descending from right to left. The tone is strong with a warm bottom end and a soaring crystal-like upper end. Projection is excellent and response crisp. This violin is being offered for sale: $3200. |
