This instrument is modeled after Guarneri del Gesu' and was handmade by Snow Stringed Instruments, Inc. expressly for Northern Knights Violins in 2002.  The violin has honey colored spirit varnish with brown-red highlights.  The back is a single piece of highly flamed maple.  The top is of two pieces, book matched medium grained spruce.  The ribs match the back in flame pattern.  The neck is from maple with a wider flame pattern.   The violin was sold in 2006.
