Wooden Sculpture of Violette
This sculpture was hand carved by Melinda White-Bronson, a well known artist established in Burlington, Vermont, and Thurmond Knight, a violin maker in Glover, Vermont. They collaborated on this artwork from 2006 to 2013 when it was presented at a gallery located in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Burlington, Vermont. The show was scheduled from June 4th through August 29th, 2013. The piece depicts the viola, named Violette, playing herself while seated on a plush mahogany chair draped with a golden silk shawl.
