C. H. Barton 1920

C. H. Barton 1920 violin was made in the USA in Chicago, Illinois.  This violin was modeled after Stradivarius.  Varnish is very handsome with red brown over a golden ground.  Spruce top is of even fine grain throughout.  One piece back is of beautiful satin quilted maple.  Cheek patch present on treble side of scroll.  Rosewood pegs.  All other fittings are of ebony with a Wittner composite tailpiece.  Dominant strings.  Hand-made purfling inlay has been well done.  Strong tone that is broad and full.  This would be good in ensembles.  Sale Price: $1100.
