This violin was made by Ernst Heinrich Roth in 1925 and is a copy of an instrument made by Francesco Ruggeri in 1685. The label is as follows:

The violin is in near perfect condition with a highly flamed once-piece back. The spruce top is of fine even grain. The varnish is pristine, resembling that found on fine old Cremonese instruments. It has a very large soloistic sound with excellent projection.
