John Juzek Violin

John Juzek Violin, handmade in Prague, is modeled after Stradivarius.  It was most likely made in the early 1950s.
The violin is setup with ebony pegs, fingerboard and end pin.  Tailpiece is from the Wittner company with built-in fine tuners.  Chin rest is of composite material, also from the Wittner company.  Tonica strings with a Pirastro gold label E string.  The tone is mellow with quick response and excellent resonance.  This instrument would hold its own in any orchestra.  The violin has a well repaired bass bar crack of the spruce top plate.  There is a well repaired F hole eye crack.  The spruce top is of fine, close and even grain with some widening just at the periphery.  The one-piece maple back has tight even flames that ascend slightly from left to right.  Varnish is warm brown over gold and in excellent condition.  Sale Price: $2400
