This instrument was made in Markneukirchen, Saxony ca. 1925. The violin is in very good condition and was fully restored and set-up by Thurmond Knight in 2025. It is outfitted with Tonica A-D-G and a Pirastro Gold Label E string. Pegs and chinrest are of a fine ebony. Wittner tailpiece with built-in fine tuners. The spruce top is of wide even grain. The two-piece maple back is of tightly curled flames running horizontally across the back. Tone is warm and clear. This violin would be perfect for ensemble and string quartet playing. The label seen inside the bass F hole reads: “Repaired by Thurmond Knight, Glover, Vermont 2025” Sale price: $2200.
