Stainer Model Violin ca 1930

This violin was modeled after those made by Jakob Stainer.  It has a two piece spruce top of fine even grain, and a two piece maple back with moderate figure.  The varnish is chocolate brown and in fairly good condition.  The instrument was restored in August 2020 by Thurmond Knight, requiring a new bottom block, new boxwood peg hole bushings, new ebony pegs and setup.  The tone is warm with a very beautiful silvery upper end that sings all the way up the fingerboard.  The sale price: $695.
